Become a Certified Flight Instructor
Teach the next generation of pilots — and build the flight hours you need for your career.

What Is a CFI Certification?
A Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) is a pilot who has obtained a specialized certification that allows them to teach others how to fly. To become a CFI, a pilot must hold at least a commercial pilot’s license and undergo additional training, including passing written exams and flight tests, to demonstrate their ability to instruct students.
CFIs are responsible for teaching both the theoretical and practical aspects of aviation, such as flight maneuvers, navigation, and safety procedures. They also evaluate students’ progress, provide feedback, and ensure they are meeting the necessary standards to advance in their training.
Many pilots pursue a CFI rating as a way to build flight hours and experience, which is essential for those aiming to fly professionally, such as with an airline.
